ACCOMMODATION

Built in the 1860s this renovated former coastguards’ cottage is near the end of a quiet, tranquil lane only 150 yards from the beach.

In the Victorian era the coastguard station formed a front line against smuggling and provided assistance to shipwrecked sailors. Today it is an ideal base for walking, a family holiday, or a peaceful hideaway from hectic lives at any time of the year. For the energetic there’s a hearty walk on nearby Tennyson Down to the Needles, or for those wanting a gentle stroll there’s Freshwater Bay where you can enjoy the sea breeze.

West Wight is renowned for its scenic coastline and beaches; Compton, Brook, Alum Bay, Totland and Colwell Bay. Ideal for exploring whether looking for fossils or dinosaur footprints, building sand castles or enjoying the surf there is something for everyone.

The house sleeps 4 and is ideal for either a family or small group holidays. The property is filled with character and with its wonderful location provides the opportunity for either a relaxing or adventure filled seaside holiday.
